Tilda Loves Presents!

Happy Thanksgiving friends! Today is not a public holiday in the Bahamas so, unlike so many of you, I have to work won't get to spending extra time with family and friends today. Despite that, I thank God for giving me yet another day filled with his blessings and a job to go to!

I just have one question to ask today. Who doesn't love presents? I know Tilda does...and so do I. LOL!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Isn't it amazing that there is so much to be thankful for yet some of us are so ungrateful? Happy Thanksgiving and remember, in all things, give Thanks!

Now on to Christmas. I can hardly believe how quickly time has flown by this year. In just a few weeks it'll be Christmas again, but that's okay with me 'cause Christmas is my favorite time of the year!!  That being said, naturally I'm sharing a Christmas card today.

I actually made this card to enter in the Cute Card Thursday Challenge 139 - A Sketch by Susan over at http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/, but kept forgetting to link it and now I realize that I missed the deadline.  All is not lost though because I'm gonna enter it in the following challenges:

Daring Cardmakers  - Challenge "We Three........."
Sir Stampalot - Christmas Traditions

If It Weren't For The Rain...

Good morning and Happy November. I've decided to take yet another leap in the world of papercrafting and will now be submitting my work for various online challenges. Thank you so much Tracy for encouraging me and giving me the confidence to enter these challenges. Please pop on over and visit Tracy's blog at http://tracy-countrymouse.blogspot.com/ .

For my first challenge I made a card for the CRAFT Challenge 74, Monotone over at http://trimmiescraftchallenge.blogspot.com/  The challenge is to make a project using mainly one colour. I decided to use hues of blues for my card and a stamp from Whiff of Joy, which I coloured with prisma colored pencils.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges.

Creative Inspirations - Challenge 46 - Glitter, Glamour & Girlie
ABC Challenge - G is for Glitter
Totally Papercrafts - Challenge 40 - Bling it on

Thanks for dropping by and wish me luck!

Happy Birthday Curtonzia

Hello fellow bloggers! Hope that you're having a marvelous Monday.  This is a birthday card that I "put together" for Danielle's friend Curtonzia. According to Danielle this is her card because she picked out everything that she wanted me to use on it and all I did was "just put it together".  Anyway the important thing is that Curtonzia really liked the card:-).

Time Really Flies!

Wow, I can't believe that it's been almost a month since I last posted here!!!  I have been so busy at work since my last post I was just too tired to update my blog by the time I got home. Well, the good news is that I am now on vacation from everything but crafting for the next 2 1/2 weeks!!!!!!!!!

To get back in the swing of things, I'm posting a family tree that I did for a class project for a co-worker's daughter.  Since I did this on my lunch hour and didn't have the luxury of my cricut expression or cuttlebug the artist in me emerged and I drew the tree and flowers then cut them freehand.  However, like a true crafter, I did have a little something extra to add. In this case it just happened to be two little girls that were my first test cuts with one of the cricut paper dolls cartridge. As expected, this was the best project submitted and earned her  a grade of 100%!

This is the tree before I added the flowers

Burst of Colour Sympathy Card

My older sister asked me to make a sympathy card for her co-worker Yvette, who has just recently lost her mother, but I had been so busy at work that I totally forgot! Anyway, my sister wasn't hearing that so after a long hard day at work (from 9:00 a.m to 10:30 pm) I was forced to make my way to my craft table and make a card. Yes, I did say force, lol.  I was just too tired to pull out my tools and make a fancy card, so instead I decided on a simple card with a burst of colour. I really hope it helped to brighten Yvette's day.

Christmas Scrapbook Layout

Happy Saturday Everyone! My post today is a really quick one, which features two Christmas Scrapbook Layouts. I got the kit for free (yeah!!!) from Keisha, over at the Scrapbook Cottage about a year ago, but justs got around to putting it together a few weeks ago. I thought the kit was a little drab so did a bit of tweaking, changed some paper and added a few embellisments. I'm really pleased with the end result and hope you like it to.

My Cup Runneth Over

Ever had an idea that you just knew would be great when you get around to creating it? Well that's exactly what happened to me when I made this card for Shantel's bday. In my mind I knew wanted to bring several aspects of a beautiful day together in one card. So I got to work using my Design Studio and welded a large cup to make a card, then welded some clouds for the topping.  When I was finished with all of the welding I cut the card using my cricut expression.
Since I knew I knew my focul piece was a sticker that read "Friends are the flowers in the garden of life", there was no way I could complete the card without flowers!  For me this card so captures the essence of a beautiful day; a nice refreshing drink, friends, flowers and a beautiful cloudy day!

Ahhhhh POOH!

Hi friends,

Hope you're all having a great weekend. I'm back to crafting, so you know I certainly am!!!! My cricut expression is really getting  lot of play these days. Today I made my very first cut using my Winnie the Pooh cartridge to make a birthday card for my sister's godchild Christian, who's gonna be 2 years old on Monday.  The Winnie the Pooh Cart is a great cart and is super easy to cut.  In addition to my expression  and winnie the pooh cartridge. I used cricut design studio, the juke box, and  A Child's Year cricut cartridge. I really, really love how this card turned out. Clean and Simple. No bling, no ribbon, no embossing, yet very "happy" and quite fitting for a 2 year old boy.

Thanks for visiting and happy crafting!

Danielle and Gabrielle's BIG Day!!!

I'm sure that everyone knows by now that today is Danielle and Gabrielle's 12th birthday. Happy Birthday girls! As many of you know Danielle has been reminding me about this day and nagging me for a Hello Kitty Card from the day I started this blog. Any hoo, before Shantel, Dawn or Terah asks, the answer is NO, I did not make a card for Gabby, and don't even act like y'all don't know why, LOL.

Here's the card I made for Danielle using my cricut expression, Design Studio and Hello Kitty cricut cartridge.  I cut multiple layers for the cake and embossed the top layer using my cuttlebug and D'vine Swirls embossing folder. I added foam tape to pop up the embossed layer of the cake then ran my white cat's eye over it to give it a frosted look. For the finishing touch I stamped a bday sentiment in white ink, added a rose, some bling, and ribbon.

Last but by no means least, no birthday is complete without cake and ice-cream! Here's a picture of the birthday cake which tasted even better than it looked. Man, there goes my diet once again!

Morgan's Hair Clips

Okay, so here's what I didn't tell you. Besides making school uniform skirts,  my co-worker Dawn commissioned me to make hair clips for her baby girl Morgan! Now you understand why I need a few more hours in my day?
Anyway, it's getting late and I have work in the morning and I have to track down a package from Oh My Crafts tomorrow, so I'll just get right to it.

When I took these pics, I was in a rush and didn't have the time to worry about whether the colour was right or not.  Looking back, I wish I had taken at least one picture that really captured the beauty of the clips. Despite the colour you see in the photo above, Morgan's hair clips coordinated really well with her red and khaki uniform....see for yourself!

Baby Morgan all dressed up in her uniform and coordinating hair clips.
Doesn't she look like a little angel???

Now I can get back to paper crafting!!!!

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day.

Back to School

Wow, what a week this is turning out to be! I swear I need a few more hours in my day, or be a SAHM. Hmmm, how can I be a SAHM without having kids???? LOL. Anyway, can you believe how fast time is just flying by? It's already September. Yep, that means the summer break is officially over and it's back to school  for all the kids and back to the regular traffic nightmare for the motoring public.

Seems like my twin nieces Danielle and Gabrielle were just born yesterday, and now they're entering grade 8. My little grand-niece (I know, it sounds weird) Kiarah is entering K5 and even my co-worker's baby girl Morgan is in Pre-K...am I getting old or what??? NOT!!!!!, lol.

Kiarah, all dressed up and striking a pose on the 1st day of school! I tried to get her to rest her Dora knapsack down until I had taken her picture but she just wasn't having it!
 .
Danielle, the Diva. All dressed up and looking smart in the uniform skirt that I made for her.

Don't you think I did a good job on the skirt, which by the way took up too much of  my crafting time?
I didn't mind sewing the skirts, but I absolutely hated pleating the plaid material!

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Finally!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!  Hope all is well and all the kiddies are ready to go back to school tomorrow.  I'm not very excited about back to school because I know tomorrow is gonna be a traffic nightmare on our tiny, overcrowded streets. To add to the traffic, there is a whole lot of road works going on and heaven help us all if it rains. By the way, just in case you missed me for the last few days I wasn't missing in action I was busy sewing uniform skirt's for my twin nieces, Danielle and Gabrielle.  Perhaps I'll post photos of the girls in their skirts tomorrow :-) .

Any whoo, now to the good news. Congratulations to my sister-friend Shantel, who finally started her very own blog yesterday.  I was so happy yesterday when she sent me an e-mail with a link to her blog and dedicated her very first blog post to me!  Please visit Shan's blog  http://mypurplepapaya.blogspot.com/ and feel free to leave a comment.

Since I having been doing any paper crafting this week,  I thought I'd switch gears today and share something other than a card. This is a birthday cake centerpiece that I made for my younger sister's birthday a while back, using artificial flowers. I added the doll to the top of the cake, made the doll a coordinating dress and hair piece then added a  small bouquet of flowers for her to hold.  Hope you like it.

Happy Crafting!

Totally Scrap Tinkerbell

So, when was the last time you really went through all that scrap in your scrap pile? Believe me, you'll probably be very surprised by all the little treasures you find hidden there!!! One day I realized that I just had way too much scraps and decided to challenge myself to make a card using only scraps. As fate would have it, my 4 year old niece Kiarah had been nagging me to make her a card and after digging through my stash and finding, Tinkerbell, butterflies and pinks and  it was clear that I would make her card for my challenge! After a little digging, trimming, cutting, and pasting this is what I ended up with. Not only am I pleased with the results of my efforts, but even more so because of how much she absolutey LOVES her  "Tinkle Bell"  card!!!

Happy Scrappin'

Anyone else ready...

For Christmas, that is????!!! I know I certainly am and since I so look forward to opening presents, I wanted to give you one today. Now tell me, who doesn't like getting presents???? Enjoy!!

For my card I used my cuttlebug, and I mean I really, really used my cuttlebug, lol. I used the CB Seasons Greetings embossing folder, CB scribble flower, and CB Alphabet, Harmony. I also used the fiskars Treading Waters punch, added some fabric rosettes and some bling. As we all know a present just isn't complete without a bow so I just had to throw in some ribbon and complete my present with a bow.

Thanks for dropping in and I hope you find something to inspire you while you're here!

Have a Wonderful day.

I'm Back!

Wow, I can't believe it's been 7 days already since my last post!  Yes, I know I have a lot of catching  up to do for all those days I was M.I.A, so I'll just get right to posting.  Since I have so many bday cards/projects in my library, I thought I'd just share 7 of them today. How's that for catching up? Hope you like!

PURSE CARD 1

PURSE CARD 2

Purse Card 2 - Inside

I made these beautiful purse cards using the Ultimate Crafter's Companion along with very pretty cardstock, paper rosettes, cuttlebug scribble flower die and CB d'vine swirl embossing folder and ribbon that I had in my stash. A lightweight cardstock, with an origami fold, was used on the inside. These purses are simple, yet elegant and were really a breeze to make with the crafters companion. I really love them both!

SIMPLY FEMININE - PINK & WHITE

Pink & White Birthday Card

Pink & White Card with Envelope
For this feminine card I layered the white card base with pink gingham vellum, then layered again with white cardstock embossed with the cuttlebug leafy branch embossing folder. I added die cuts made using the cuttlebug scribble flower die, Spellbinders butterflies 2, spellbinders labels 4, cuttlebug d'vine swirls and swiss dots embossing folders. For the finishing touches I stamped the sentiments in green ink, added a few white fabric rosettes, leaves and off course, ribbon! The coordinating envelope was made using the ultimate crafter's companion and spellbinders labels 4.

FLEUR DE LIS

Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Pendant

My step-mother's bday card made using spellbinders pendant Fleur De Lis, Cuttlebug 2x2 Vintage die and CB Fleur de Lis Embossing Folder. To complete the card I added tied a bow in the middle of the pendant, added fabric rosettes, pearls and a tag with a hand stamped happy birthday sentiment.

MY FIRST EASEL CARD

Happy Bday - Easel Card

This is my older sister's bday card and also my first easel card! For this card I used spellbinders labels 4, labels 8, labels 9, scalloped rectangles, fancy tags, cuttlebug embossing folders D'vine Swirls and Swiss Dots, cuttlebug birthday wishes A2 combo die, celebration corner punch,  Whiff of Joy stamp - Musing Melinda, prismacolour pencils, fabric rosettes, bling and ribbon.  I recall this card being tedious, now I realize why!!!! If I didn't know any better myself, I would think that I used every supply I had at the time on this card

FLOWER POT CARD

Spellbinders Sunflower 2 - FRONT

Sunflower 2 - INSIDE

This was a simple but nice card that was made for Joey, my older sister's godchild. I used Spellbinders Sunflower 2, labels 3, ribbons tags trio, Fiskars border punch - Leaf, ribbon and handstamped sentiments on this card.

PEONY BOUQUET & EXPLOSION BOX

Peony Flower Pot Card

My younger sister's bday card, which was also my first flower pot card, was made using Spellbinders Peony, Cuttlebug BDay Wishes Combo, CB distress embossing folder, brads, 3D dragon fly sticker, artifical green stems and ribbon. Yet another tedious card!

Peony Card & WOJ Explosion Box

I decided to make a coordinating explosion box to go along with the Peony bouquet card.  I used the same cardstock combination for the card and the box. I also used Spellbinders labels 4, Fancy Tags, CB BDay Wishes combo, CB Bloom Dots Embossing Folder, Fiskars Border Punch - Sunburst, 3D butterfly and floral stickers, WOJ stamp - Musing Melinda, stencil kit, Prismacolor pencils, ribbon and handstamped sentiments. A birthday cake candle was placed in the center of the box. This combo actually turned out quite nice.

No More Bad News, Please!!!

Does bad news always come in pairs?  I was in a local craft store with my sister-friend Shantel on Tuesday past when she got the news that her Aunt Muggie had passed away. My deepest sympathy is extended to Shan and her family, especially her mom, Anne. I really hope that's it for bad news for a long, long time.

I can't believe that its Thursday already.  There is just soooo much to do and so little time!!!!!!! I haven't made any cards, done any layouts or posted anything for the last two e;days but just for the record, I haven't been slacking off.  It's just too early in the game slacking off and besides I'm already addicted to blogging :-)

Shan and I have been hard at it, working on some floral arrangements for her brother's wedding, which is this coming Saturday.  Shantel's sister Sharma, who kept our company while we worked, is adamant that she should get some credit on my blog for the items we made, although I don't quite recall her making anything.  Since I do recall her "touching" a flower, giving directives and being a critic, I decided to give her special mention. Unfortuunately my camera isn't working, but  as soon as Shantel e-mails me the photos of the "stuff" we've been working on for her brother's wedding I will post them fo see:-).

My niece Danielle, who is also one of my followers, keeps nagging me about a Hello Kitty card so I thought I'd post this one, which I made using my cricut expression, and Hello Kitty cricut cartridge. xoxo Danielle!

Thanks for checking in!
